Customize menu changing skin

Customize the background and change the skin

The process of change in substance or skin on your cartridge R4, usually different based on the firmware version that takes currently charged. Depending on the firmware version have created folders or not necessary to make such change of skin. To do this we must locate in the micro SD memory folder "_SYSTEM_" and, within it, find the folder "Themes". Should the latter does not exist (this occurs in the newest versions of the firmware), simply must create and, once established, will place within it folders "theme#number "(replacing # by a number from 01 to 13). For example you can create a folder "theme01", "theme02", "theme03", and so on until "theme13".

Once created different folders or localized "theme#number" inside the folder "Themes", we paste on each of these folders 4 the following images that form the skin:

  • LOGO.BMP (R4 upper screen in the main menu)
  • INCONS.BMP (lower R4 screen in the main menu)
  • BCKGRD_1.BMP (upper display in the submenu "Games")
  • BCKGRD_2.BMP (lower screen from the submenu "Games")

We must remember that the images should be placed with the same file names mentioned in this list and should be in. BMP in 8-BIT / 24-BIT and with a size of 256x192 pixels.

In the case that because of the firmware version we have not had to create folders as they existed beforehand, we will have to replace the existing images in folders "theme#number" with the new bearing in mind that, by doing this, we are losing the skin that was previously possessed.

Note: To change the skin from the console makes when turning, being in the menu and pressing the button [Select] until you reach the desired depth.
