Steps to upgrade the firmware

In this section we will see how to do to download and update the firmware obsolete our R4 DS. If what you want is to install the firmware for the first time in your cartridge recently purchased you read this another section: preparation of the cartridge here as will be explained only the updating process (though actually install and update processes are almost equal).

Rinse the foregoing, we can begin: the reality is that every day leave new games, and some of them do not work in our console because the firmware that has our cartridge is an outdated version and therefore not improved at all, but we must not despair... everything is solved with a small firmware update.

The first step in achieving our long-awaited update is download the firmware updatefrom the official site of the cartridge: download firmware, or, for those who lose a little on the official site and do not know that downloading (as happens to me times), you can get it from our homepage pressing the button placed for that purpose.

Once downloaded the firmware update, how to update the procedure is very similar installation we have already explained above in section preparation cartridge: what to do is basically unpacking the zip rar or we just locate and download folders "_system_" and "moonshl" and archives "_DS_MENU" and "_DS_MSHL.NDS" and copied all (files and folders above) directly to the Micro SD memory (directly to the memory, not inside any folder). In general these files can find them on the rare inside a folder called "English", if downloaded the firmware in English. As we had previously installed a firmware and we are trying to install another above, the operating system ask if we replace the files and folders, which will respond if that. And now, the firmware has been updated and ready to run the latest applications and roms.

Lastly, we can clarify that for the moment there is no official firmware in Spanish, so we have no choice but to download the version in English.
